We’re in the business of making magic and are currently looking for young male and female performers with good comic timing and presenting skills to join the team for our Summer Season, Halloween and Christmas shows and events.
We are looking for talented and skilled performers with acting, singing and dance ability. Formal training is not essential but you must have a passion for performing, be reliable and responsible and live local to the Bournemouth area, as accomodation is not provided.
We are currently recruiting for the following positions:
SUMMER SEASON 2012
Performers to entertain in our in-house productions. The format of the shows is variable but will include elements of:
- Presenting
- Puppeteering (including UV)
- Skin Costume Character Performing
- 'Minding' Skin Costume Characters
- Technical Show Operation
- Show 'Hosting' - acting as an usher in our 300 seat Happydrome Theatre
- Retail duties in the new Happydrome Theatre Shop
- Photography of Meet and Greet sessions
- Queueline Entetainment
There will be up to 6 performances daily (including Puppet shows, live action shows and party dance shows), with additional meet and greets and walkabout photo opportunities throughout the day. Therefore applicants must be willing and able to put 100% into every performance whether it's the first or last show of the day!
All entertainment vacancies are part-time and would therefore suit students who are studying performing arts at College or University. Working hours are mainly weekends and school holidays, although availability during the week in term-time is an advantage, in case additional hours become available during this time.
HALLOWEEN
Puppeteers to perform in 'SHAZAM' our interactive UV Puppet show in the Happydrome Theatre 3 times daily. Duties will also include Skin Character Meet and Greets, a 'child-friendly' live halloween maze, show operating, 'Minding' skin characters and hosting on-park events.
Our Halloween event runs from 27th October until 4th November.
CHRISTMAS
Our pantomimes are always the most spectacular show of the year in the Happydrome Theatre, and this year is no exception! After the amazing success of 'Jack and the Beanstalk', which included 3D Projected Special Effects, we are working on an equally magical production for this year's pantomime.
You must have good availability throughout the season that you are applying for.
