If the weather does turn while you are here, we try and keep all the rides going but for those of you who want a bit of warmth and dry, you can come in to our main building and let the kids go wild in the Wild Thing! Aztec indoor play centre with slides, air cannons to fire foam balls in the Thunderdome, and 3 levels of climbing around, while you sit and relax in the Cafe or Mezzanine floor and keep an eye on your children in comfort.
(As with all parks, there are a few additional ‘coin-op’ games and rides for you to use if you so wish but that is a decision we leave in your hands.)
Our park has been designed to be a family park, with rides and attractions in keeping with the family feel. Parents/guardians are able to use most of our rides and attractions with their children, making a full family day packed with fun! Unlike other theme parks, we do not allow adults in unless they are accompanying children, and we do not allow children in unless they are accompanied by adults.
A brief history
Originally the ‘Alice in Wonderland Park’, it opened in 1991 with our giant Hedge Maze designed by Adrian Fisher, a marquee and a pick your own field next door. From these humble beginnings it grew steadily over the following 14 years until 2004, when the park started work on a new £1 million building! This was to house the Wild Thing! indoor play centre with additional Toilets, Cafe, TV Lounge, Gift Shop and Offices.
The building opened in 2005, and to mark this big step Adventure Wonderland was born. This was now a park that could open all year round, the main season, March – September all rides and attractions open for business, while in the winter season, Sept – March Wild Thing! is open on its own for indoor play. Incorporated within the Wild Thing! building, 3 party rooms were added to enable us to run unlimited play parties for every budget.
The AW Club membership was added to allow a huge money saving entry for each of the seasons. Since then we have continued to provide a fun family environment for all who visit. We must be doing the right thing, as we have been voted Primary Times Readers award winners 3 years running! Adventure Wonderland has now moving in to 2017, with the great value and family values that it has always had. We are not a corporate park; we are a completely self funded family business, dedicated to providing great value family fun!
